(Feb 2010)Five families, whose houses were razed in a fire in Bagan Lallang in Butterworth, Penang, on Tuesday, received cash aid from the Federal Goverment through the BN Co-ordinators.
Bagan Barisan Parliamentary co-ordinators David Chua, who visited the victims with Bagan Jermal MCA branch co-ordinators Maggie Teh and Sungai Puyu MCA Branch co-ordinator Sum Yoo Keong, handed each family RM500.00 on Wednesday.
Chua in a press statement said apart from handing them the money from the disaster fund, he would look into ways to help the victims as Chinese New Year is just around the corner.
They were made homeless after the 9am fire. Their belongings were also destroyed together with a Proton Waja and a Perodua kancil.
